School Service at SWB
Wahnbachtalsperrenverband

>> Wahnbachtalsperre.
Would you like to find out more about drinking water and particularly about the quality of the water from the Wahnbachtalsperrenverband?
Besides learning about the general regulations and principles concerning water treatment, you will also be able to see the complex and innovative technology that is used to treat the water of the Wahnbachtalsperrenverband and turn it into such excellent drinking water.
Guided tours are available for children from 3rd and 4th grade onwards; however, we recommend that the children be in 5th grade. The tours are usually possible from Monday to Thursday, except during the holidays. Classes will be provided with materials and information on drinking water to prepare them.
We also offer an affordable pick-up service for school classes with an SWB bus.

Müllverwertungsanlage Bonn GmbH (MVA)

>> A look into the waste bunker.
The disposal of inevitable non-recyclable waste can longer occur without prior treatment. So where does it go? We can still gain energy from waste. And which toxic gases are produced during incineration? These and many more questions will be answered on a guided tour through Bonn’s waste processing facility (MVA). We recommend early bookings due to limited capacities. Visitors should have a good head for heights as the tour also takes place at quite some height, for example, when looking into the waste bunker.

SWB Service

>> At your daily service: The buses and trains of SWB Bus und Bahn.
Every day, our buses and trains transport many thousand passengers through Bonn and the region; but what exactly is required to keep all of our vehicles on the road and on the tracks?
SWB Service provides school classes with all the answers on guided tours through its workshops. Visitors can choose between a tour of the railway depot in Dransdorf and the omnibus depot in Friesdorf. They will be able to find out everything that there is to know about the technology from electrical engineering, to the hydraulics and pneumatics of the railcars and all the way to bogie construction, or how bus repairs today start with the reading out the errors on a laptop before any actual repair work is done.

SWB Vocational Training Workshop

>> An electronic technician trainee.
Time to make a decision on your future career. A guided tour of SWB’s own vocational training workshop grants potential trainees an insight into areas such as electric engineering, electronic engineering, pneumatics and hydraulics, and allows them to experience the work in the workshop first hand.
The tour will also especially focus on the things that vocational trainees are already doing. Besides receiving information on the requirements, visitors will also be able to talk to the trainees and compare the realities to the ideas that they had in mind. This is especially helpful advice when it comes to choosing a profession.
