Legal Advisor Ensures Transparency

Creating transparency, uncovering dubious and illicit activities, and clearly-defined regulations: These are the foundations upon which Stadtwerke Bonn’s is expanding its concept to prevent corruption.

One of the pillars of its concept is the employment of a Legal Advisor, who functions as an independent point of contact for the employees of Stadtwerke Bonn outside the company.
SWB’s Legal Advisor is the Siegburg-based lawyer Jürgen Helser.

He works independently and is bound by lawyer-client confidentiality; whistle-blowers may therefore remain anonymous if they wish to do so. The obligation to secrecy also exists with regard to Stadtwerke Bonn.

Anyone, who would like to point out any irregularities or other illicit activities of business partners, may notify the Legal Advisor directly by telephone, personally (by appointment) or by e-mail. The Legal Advisor is however not a general (customer) complaints office.

The Legal Advisor will first examine the factual and legal content of the provided information. If any evidence of irregularities is discovered, he will then inform the Management through the internal audit department, and where necessary, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
